Let's be real, our nerves get the best of us sometimes and we make excuses to avoid them. We will use every excuse in the book to shove those nerves aside even if it means loving and caring for ourselves less than we deserve. Trust me, I get that life is chaotic and your routine bounces all over the place. Balancing your work life, taxiing someone SOMEWHERE, juggling appointments, carving out time with your significant other and the list goes on and on. It's easy to make excuses like "I want to lose at least 20 lbs first" and "I just don't have the money right now." I wanted to write this to show you how much your excuses have brainwashed you to believe you can't do this. I'm here to say you absolutely CAN and you are WORTHY of splurging on a self-love experience of a lifetime!

"I don't have enough time for myself."
It's also important to remember you can't pour from an empty cup. You won't be able to sustain the energy you need to take care of everyone else around you unless you make the time you need to nurture your own mental health. I know it's easier said than done, but if you can regularly commit to everyone else, why can't you do it for yourself too? I'm certainly not perfect, trust me, I fall into the trap of putting myself on the back burner too. This is why we need to stick together and hold each other accountable! Sometimes all it takes is a quick kick in the butt and someone looking you straight in the eye to say "SLOW DOWN, take a break, breathe for a minute!"
A boudoir photoshoot gives you the opportunity to offload your stresses and take a step back, breathe and love on yourself for a few hours. Imagine how much energy you'll save each and every day when you decide to stop comparing yourself to others, trying to live up to unrealistic beauty standards and down right stop caring what other people think you should look like. You wouldn't believe the amount of mental weight you carry until it's finally been lifted the moment you realize where your beauty truly comes from.
What better way to take time for yourself than getting all dolled up and strutting around like a queen for a day?

"My weight isn't where I want it to be, I'm not the right size for boudoir."
Here is a fun fact, only FIVE percent of Americans naturally possess the body types portrayed in advertising. Why the hell are we comparing ourselves to such a small percentage of the population?!
I will continue to repeat myself until I'm blue in the face, there is NO size requirement to love yourself! Be a part of the movement to stomp out these absurd beauty standards. Prove to yourself and inspire others that a perfect body isn't needed to still ferociously love YOUR body no matter the size! Every woman is built differently and no two are the same, so for the love of all things, please stop comparing.
With that said, it's a wonderful journey we go on with our bodies and we have our ups and downs. Goals to get healthy or make improvements that positively impact our mental and physical health are incredible to have. This doesn't mean we're only worth celebrating once we cross the finish line. We deserve to be damn proud of where we started, the milestones along the way, the ups and down, the setbacks and wherever we end up. Boudoir is meant to celebrate where we are RIGHT NOW and we can celebrate again after losing 15 lbs or gaining 20 lbs. Who cares what the scale says, your worth isn't defined by a number.

"I lost my sensual side a long time ago, I don't think a boudoir shoot is really for me."
Oh, how wrong you are.
I would argue this excuse to be the EXACT reason why you should do one.
Maybe you did lose touch with the more intimate side of yourself, because of work, family, health, etc. This doesn't mean it's gone forever, you just need a little help finding it and the right opportunity to let it go wild. Don't worry, I'll give you the tools you need to find your way back to that side of yourself. And when you find the matches to light your fire up, you have my blessing to skip the sparklers and go straight for the fireworks.

"Boudoir is an investment I just don't have the money for."
I'll agree boudoir IS an investment. However, it's not just the photos you are investing in. It's an investment in YOURSELF, your mental health, your confidence and your empowerment. If you want more insight on the value to be gained from a boudoir shoot, be sure to checkout my other blog here.
To make it even easier to say yes, I do pre-session payment plans. This means you get to choose your package in advance and break up the cost into installments leading up to your photoshoot. I love doing this, so you can get all your photos right away since they'll already be paid for by the time you come in. I even do financing through Affirm and PayPal Credit if you prefer!
If you want more information about payment plans, please email me at mturner@bdbstudio.net or call/text 832-979-5141.
