Sometimes the scariest part about doing a boudoir session is just getting the answers to your long list of questions. So, I've decided to go over the biggest ones I get asked to help ease your mind and give you insight on what to expect.
Do you share my images?
I want you to feel absolutely free during your photoshoot to let go and enjoy your day. Your privacy in doing so is my top priority. There will be zero pressure to have those moments shared with the world if you aren't comfortable with it. Only with your signed permission will your images be shared!
Do I have to wear lingerie?
Although lingerie is a traditional choice linked to boudoir, it's more important you wear what you feel best in. If lingerie doesn't fit your personality, the choices are endless in picking your wardrobe to align with what your comfort level is. That might be an oversized sweater and full coverage panties, your favorite pair of jeans, a button down shirt, sports jersey or even wearing nothing at all. Remember, it's YOUR day. Wear what makes you happy!
Do you have payment plans?
Yes! After the initial retainer is paid to book your shoot, you will have the opportunity to choose your package within days of signing your contract. I'll setup a pre-session payment plan to break up the cost into installments leading up to your photoshoot. Other options include paying in full with card, financing through Affirm or PayPal Credit and extending your payment plan after your photoshoot if you choose to upgrade your package once you see your images.
Is hair and makeup included?
All of my boudoir sessions include professional hair and makeup (plus lashes) as a complimentary service. It's my treat, so you don't have to stress the morning of and can feel relaxed and pampered before we start shooting.
Do you Photoshop my images?
All images are edited for color, exposure and lighting as well as skin retouching through Photoshop. My goal is responsible editing where temporary things are removed and permanent things are not. I strongly believe our bodies tell a story and are worth celebrating. If you are still learning to love certain areas, I can help with wardrobe, angles, lighting and posing to stay within your level of comfort.
Where should I buy my outfits?
I include a list of places I recommend to shop in my prep guide broken down into online, in-person and luxury brands. A few of my personal favorites include Spicy Lingerie, Adore Me and Honey Birdette. If you're looking for vintage or size-inclusive options, definitely check out Playful Promises. As for high-end luxury, Bordelle is an excellent option.
What type of print products do you offer?
Nothing quite gives your images that "wow" factor until you physically hold them in your hands. It's a special thing nowadays to have printed photos, since most of our photos tend to live in the digital world. By far the most popular choice for printing is a custom album collection! From the cover, types of pages, gilding, material and box... you get to customize your heirloom quality album to fit your style and personality. Aside from albums, wall art is the next best choice and you have the option of canvas, metal or acrylic in several sizes to choose from. I also have the nostalgic option for seeing your photos in a retro viewer or subtly place a smaller acrylic block on your shelf or desk.
Do you offer digital options?
I totally get wanting to share images on social media or just simply having them at your disposal on your phone to view whenever you want. Every collection includes digitals whether you add printed products or not. Another super popular digital option is a custom smart phone app.
I'm freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?
Nerves are completely normal and valid, but it makes the reward so much more satisfying once it's all done. Trust the process and keep moving forward. If you're feeling overwhelmed with wardrobe shopping or prep, take a break for a few days and return with fresh eyes. You can always send me photos or reach out to setup a phone call or zoom meeting for feedback too. Ask questions, read the guide, talk through the process out loud to yourself, me or a friend! It will ease your nerves knowing you have support. You can do this, I promise!
How many outfits can I bring?
I recommend bringing more than we plan to use so we have a variety to choose from and backups if needed. On average, we'll shoot 4-6 looks. I use the word "looks" instead of "outfits", since 1 or 2 of your sets might be wearing no outfit at all.
How far in advance should I book my session?
This is a loaded question, since everyone's situation is different. If you need your products by a certain date, I need to put in your order 6 weeks before to make sure they arrive in time. With that said, I do not release images or order products until your package is paid in full. Since I require pre-session payment plans, you can schedule your photoshoot as much as 12 months in advance. If you need to come in as soon as possible, you can opt to pay in full with a card or use a financing option (Affirm or PayPal Credit).
